U.K. Satic Dirty Electricity Meter / Line EMI Monitor

The SaticShield EMI Line Monitor measures electromagnetic interference on wiring. This is commonly called dirty electricity or line noise and is also known as microsurge pollution.

 

The readings are displayed in millivolts (mV), as measured from peak-to-peak. The measurement range is 0–2999 mV, a wider range than any other dirty electricity meter. Here’s a comparison of different line EMI meters.

 

The unit records peak mV (the highest number recorded since the meter was plugged in) while also displaying real-time mV numbers (what’s happening in the moment). The LCD display adds a second visual indicator in the form of a visual swoosh-shaped line diagram above the top number, indicating peak interference before and after filtering.

 

In addition, the meter tells you the line voltage (bottom number). In countries such as the U.K. with nominal 240-volt power, acceptable voltage will be somewhere around 220 to 240 volts.

 

The Satic line EMI monitor has a sound indicator. The intensity of the sound is proportional to the intensity of the dirty electricity. The sound feature cannot be turned off.
